For the week of July 22-28, in its latest report, Freddie Mac said that the average rate on a 30-year fixed rate mortgage rose to 3.55 percent from 3.49 percent the prior week. This uptick is the first time in 13 weeks that the rate did not hit a record low.
The average rate on a 15-year fixed rate loan also rose, jumping to 2.83 percent from the prior week’s record low of 2.80 percent.
